Privacy Policy for Harbor Helm

Effective date: November 7, 2026

Harbor Helm (also listed as HarborHelm) is a boat-handling simulation game published by Skerry Forge Studio. This policy explains how the game and its online services handle information. For privacy questions or requests, contact skerryforge@gmail.com.

Request Harbor Helm data deletion

You can request deletion without reinstalling Harbor Helm. Skerry Forge Studio handles requests at skerryforge@gmail.com.

  1. Email us with the subject Harbor Helm data deletion and describe which data you want deleted.
  2. For gameplay analytics, include your previous analytics app-instance ID if you saved it. Do not send passwords, payment-card details or OAuth tokens. If you do not have the ID, contact us anyway; we will explain what can be identified and what further information is needed. Without the previous ID, we may be unable to locate old pseudonymous analytics records.
  3. We will explain the request's scope and confirm when it has been submitted or processed. A Google submission acknowledgement is not confirmation that permanent erasure has finished.

In the game: Settings > Help improve Harbor Helm > Request analytics deletion submits a request for the current analytics installation and turns collection off. The app retries pending requests while it is running. Wait for Request submitted before uninstalling or clearing app data.

Data covered and kept: Analytics deletion requests target gameplay events and user-level analytics associated with the supplied app-instance ID. They do not erase local progress, cloud saves, leaderboard scores or boat names, Google purchase records, or your Google account. Manage Play Games data through Google's Play Games deletion controls; contact us about other Harbor Helm data requests.

Retention: Analytics user/event retention is configured to two months; Google's processing schedules apply and aggregate reports can remain longer. The automatic deletion service caches a hashed-ID submission receipt for up to six hours. Purchase records may remain with Google under payment/legal requirements; support correspondence is retained as needed to handle requests and applicable recordkeeping obligations. The two-month setting does not apply to cloud saves, rankings, purchases or support correspondence.

Game Data and Online Features

You can play without creating a separate Harbor Helm account. Progress, equipment, boat names, records and settings are stored on your device. Android backup or device transfer may copy eligible local data according to your device settings.

If you use Google Play Games, the game processes your Play Games player identifier to associate supported cloud progress and rankings with your account. Progress and competition records may be stored through Google Play Games. Submitted scores, ranks, your boat name and your Play Games profile may be visible to other players according to the service's visibility settings. Boat names are included with submitted ranking records, but not in gameplay analytics. Clearing local progress does not automatically delete cloud saves, published rankings or annual competition records.

Daily Challenge content is downloaded from online hosting and may be cached for offline play. Online services and hosting providers receive connection information, such as your IP address, when your device requests content or uses their services.

Optional Gameplay Analytics

Where available, Help improve Harbor Helm offers optional Google Analytics for Firebase (Google Analytics 4). In current builds, gameplay analytics collection stays disabled until you select Approve in the first-launch choice. Decline leaves it disabled. Neither choice affects gameplay progress, and you can change your choice in Settings. Earlier builds may show a Share gameplay stats checkbox and Submit instead. Builds that show analytics as unavailable do not enable this feature.

After opt-in, gameplay analytics records events such as sessions, tutorial and challenge starts and outcomes, preparation and play durations, scores, retries, Daily Challenge access, basic service errors, and ad or purchase outcomes. Google also processes a pseudonymous app-instance identifier and app/device metadata, such as app version, operating system and device characteristics. This information helps us understand difficulty, reliability and which features players use.

Our gameplay analytics events exclude boat names, Play Games account identifiers, email addresses, free-text reports, raw purchase receipts and movement traces. We do not set an Analytics User-ID or link these events to your Play Games account. Pseudonymous information is not the same as anonymous information.

Google signals and use of this analytics data for ads personalization are disabled. Analytics advertising-ID collection is disabled in the app. Ad consent and gameplay analytics consent are separate: accepting an ad consent choice does not turn on gameplay analytics.

Analytics Retention, Opt-Out and Deletion

Google Analytics user-level and event-level retention is configured to two months, with reset on new activity disabled. Google's retention and scheduled deletion processes apply; this is not a promise that every copy disappears exactly two months after collection. Standard aggregate reports can remain longer. We do not currently export analytics to BigQuery. See Google's retention explanation.

You can turn gameplay analytics off in Settings. This stops new gameplay analytics collection and clears the app's queued analytics and SDK-local analytics identity/data. Your gameplay progress is unaffected. Turning it off, clearing app data or uninstalling does not automatically delete analytics already sent to Google.

To request deletion of previously sent analytics, use Request analytics deletion in the analytics settings while your current analytics ID is still available. Builds with the automatic deletion service send that ID to our Google-hosted deletion service, which submits the request to Google Analytics using the studio's authorization. Confirming the request turns gameplay analytics off and saves the request on your device so it can retry while the app is running when connectivity returns, including after an app restart. A pending request cannot retry if the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared; wait for submission acknowledgement or contact support first. Analytics cannot be turned back on while a request is pending. A submitted message means Google acknowledged the deletion request, not that erasure has already finished. The raw ID is removed from the app's deletion request after acknowledgement; the service temporarily caches a hashed-ID receipt for up to six hours to avoid duplicate requests. Google hosting processes connection information to deliver the service. Game progress is unaffected.

Earlier builds use an email request instead: the app displays your current analytics ID and opens an email draft to skerryforge@gmail.com. You must send it; opening a draft does not submit a request or complete deletion. If the automatic service is unavailable, the app reports that condition rather than claiming deletion. Save your ID before opting out or uninstalling, or contact support while the ID is available. Without the previous ID, we may be unable to locate older pseudonymous records. We will explain the status of support requests after processing them. Aggregate information that cannot be associated with your identifier may remain.

Analytics consent and the app's analytics journal are excluded from Android backup. An app reset or reinstall may therefore require a new consent choice.

Advertising and Purchases

Where advertising is enabled, Harbor Helm uses Google AdMob and Google's consent tools. Google Mobile Ads may process IP addresses (including an approximate location derived from them), app/ad interactions, diagnostics and device or advertising identifiers to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. Available consent and ad privacy controls depend on your region and the service configuration. Where offered, reopen these controls through Settings > Ads & purchases > Ad privacy choices.

Google Play processes in-app purchases. The game receives purchase status and transaction identifiers needed to grant or restore an entitlement, such as Remove ads. Skerry Forge Studio does not receive your payment-card details. Turning gameplay analytics off does not disable the processing needed for ads you use, purchases, Play Games or content downloads.

Support and Optional Test Feedback

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. In test builds that offer a feedback form, a submitted report and any screenshot you choose are sent through a Google Apps Script relay to the Harbor Helm testing Google Group, where authorized group members can read them. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in reports or screenshots. We use support information to respond to requests and investigate problems, retaining it as needed for those purposes and any applicable recordkeeping obligations.

Service Providers and Sharing

Information is processed by Google services for the features described above and by hosting providers for content delivery. We do not sell your personal information. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect users, security or legal rights. Providers may process information outside your country under their applicable terms and safeguards.

Read Google's Privacy Policy, Firebase privacy information and Google Mobile Ads data disclosures for more about these services. Visiting this policy on GitHub Pages also involves GitHub's hosting services; see GitHub's Privacy Statement.

Your Choices and Requests

You can manage local app data and backups through Android, gameplay analytics through the game's settings, and Play Games data and profile visibility through Google's controls. Local deletion may not remove backed-up or online records. Purchase records may be retained by Google under its payment and legal requirements; the two-month analytics setting does not apply to purchases, cloud saves, rankings or support correspondence.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal information, withdraw consent, or complain to your data protection authority. Email skerryforge@gmail.com to make a request. We may need information sufficient to identify the relevant records, but you should not send passwords or payment-card details. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can investigate and address it.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this page when features or data practices change and revise the effective date. Feature availability varies by build and service configuration.
